How do I edit my article once it’s published? To edit your article, log in to our Community tools (). On your home page, you’ll see a list of the articles and photos you’ve submitted. (You may also click “Manage your submissions” from any Community page when you’re logged in.) To edit an article, click on the edit icon to the right of the corresponding headline. When you’re satisfied with your changes, hit “Republish” at the bottom of the form. Your article will now be listed as “Edited”; this means your published article has been edited.
I already have a TribLocal username and password. Why can’t I log in? TribLocal is now a part of Chicagotribune.com. Your username and password from TribLocal.com will not work on Chicagotribune.com. If you are not a member of Chicagotribune.com, please create an account. It’s free and just takes a moment to sign up. Once you are signed in, you can post articles and photos.

Is it free to post articles and photos?Yes. Signing up for a DigitalLITE membership is free. Posting articles and photos and submitting events is also free.
Will you publish my article in the print edition of TribLocal?We are currently only publishing stories from the Chicago Tribune newsroom and trusted third-party vendors in TribLocal newspapers.
How can I get my event in the calendar in print or online?We partner with Metromix on all of our calendar listings in print and online. If you d like us to consider your event for inclusion in our calendars, please use our event submission form here: . Metromix edits all submissions; please allow time for processing. Metromix does not guarantee coverage of any event. You may also post an article about your event.
Where can I find my article once it’s published?After you click “Publish,” you will receive a direct link to your article. This link is included in the message at the top of the page that reads, “Your article was published. You can see your live link by clicking here.”
Can I select multiple towns for my article?You can select one town per article. If you think your article applies to multiple towns, you may publish it multiple times. Please respect our goal to keep community articles specific to the town pages on which they appear. If your article has no local connection, we will not feature it.
Will you feature my article on the front page of my town?There’s a good chance this will happen! We feature up to five articles on each TribLocal section front under the headline “From the community.” If your story has no local connection, we will not feature it on the section front.
Can I add multiple photos to my article?You may only add one photo to your article. If you have many photos to share, please consider the Submit a photo option.
How do I change my display name on articles and photos?Go to to change the way your display name appears on articles and photos. (You can also click on “Edit your public profile” from our main community page: .) Please note that your changes will be reflected on new articles and photos only; your previous postings will retain your previous display name.
How do I add an HTML link to my article?Here’s how to add a live link to the text of your article (this will not work in the title field). Cut and paste this code into your article text: a href=”URL GOES HERE” target=”blank” NAME OF LINK /a . Replace the phase “URL GOES HERE” with the full URL of the site you want to link to. Replace the phrase “NAME OF LINK” with whatever phrase or name you want as your link text. Here’s an example: a href=”http://chicagotribune.com/naperville” target=”blank” Visit the Naperville TribLocal page /a . In your article, the phrase “Visit the Naperville TribLocal page” will be link text. Clicking on that text will open that page in a new window.
Can I use this as advertising for my business?We offer lots of options for advertisers, but this is not one of them. If your article is clearly an advertisement for your business (not a community announcement), we will not feature it. For advertising options, please go here: .
How can I find my old TribLocal articles and photos?You can find your previous postings by using a search engine such as Google. All of our old TribLocal stories, photos and community contributions can be found this way.
Where can I get a copy of my town’s paper? If you are a subscriber of select home delivery plans for the Chicago Tribune, TribLocal will be delivered to you on Thursdays. You can also pick up a copy at any outlet that sells our Thursday paper, or at various places around town like the library. If you can’t find a copy, email and we can send you one.
How do I report issues with the paper delivery?If you are a Chicago Tribune subscriber and receive TribLocal on Thursday, call 1-800-Tribune. If you do not subscribe to the Chicago Tribune and receive TribLocal on Saturday, call 1-800-998-2339. Alternately, you may email .
