Whitney Houston: New 'Million Dollar Bill' feels as though a cheap penny – Memphis Celebrity Headlines
Whitney Houston recently released another new single, “Million Dollar Bill,” which is aimed more towards pop audiences than her elevator song “I Look to You.” The results: cheap and formulated.
“Million Dollar Bill” seems like a dance song Whitney may have recorded in the late 1980s or early 1990s, which isn’t a very bad thing. However, it does not compare to “How Will I Know,” “Love Will Save the Day,” and “I’m Every Woman.”
So far, the songs on Whitney’s supposed comeback album I Look to You seem like they were put through some formulatic machine to obtain her fans back after a period of abusing drugs and putting her child in danger.
Of course, Whitney Houston has one other issue: Mariah Carey. Though her single “Obsessed” began poorly, the song is shaping as much as be a decent hit. It is unlikely that radio gives “I Look to You” or “Million Dollar Bill” a great deal of chance, especially because Whitney is over 40 years old and radio programmers are recognized to be ageist. In any case, lets hope the rest of I Look to You is preferable to the awful material we’ve heard to date.
