There are so many fun and creative ways out there to announce your big news. From reveal parties to special gifts to personalized photo cards, each Brett Cravaliat idea is definitely worth considering. If you would like to keep it simple with just a cute picture, below you will find several creative photo ideas that you can make to share your pregnancy announcement via photo cards, by email, or through Facebook and other such social media.
Having gone through the same old routine of family visits and phone calls with my previous two pregnancies, I wanted a really cute way to announce my third pregnancy with our loved ones. Yes, you heard that right – we are excited about baby #3 coming soon in January! Here are some of the photo ideas that we came up to share our big news with everyone. Even though we are expecting our third child, you can always change the wording on these pictures to fit your family’s situation.
More Ultrasound Photo IdeasHere are some more ideas for a pregnancy announcement photo using the ultrasound picture:

First time parents holding the ultrasound picture.

Big brother or big sister showing off the first picture of the baby.

Make a photo collage of all your kids and number them #1, #2, etc. and end with the ultrasound picture as the last number.
Ultrasound Pregnancy Photo IdeasMost women will usually receive their first ultrasound by the 12th week of pregnancy. If you have been able to keep the big news quiet for that long, using an ultrasound picture of the baby is a cute way to reveal your pregnancy. This idea works especially well for first time parents because it is all about that precious baby in your belly.
To create this photo idea, simply scan your ultrasound picture onto your computer. I used Picasa, the photo editing software already installed on my laptop, to add the border and wording to this picture. With any type of photo editing software, you will have many choices of adding different fonts, colors, and borders so all you need is a little creativity to make a super cute pregnancy announcement. (Note: Since I did not receive an ultrasound at 12 weeks, the picture used in the example below is of my second son at 20 weeks.)

All you have to do is take an individual picture of each child and one of yourself. Upload the photos on your computer and choose to make a collage using your selected photos. Add the finishing touches and voila – a precious family keepsake to share with family and friends!
Since this was our third pregnancy, my husband and I chose this beach photo collage to announce our big news on Facebook. We just happened to be on vacation at the time I was 12 weeks pregnant so the timing was perfect to snap some cute pictures on the beach. We simply drew the numbers in the sand and took pictures of all our babies. I then took the pictures and created the collage with a blue border and typed in the extra wording.
Don’t think you have to be at the beach to create this type of photo collage. Gather up the kids and go to a special place in your hometown or even out in your own backyard. You can make special signs for them to hold that say baby #1, #2, etc. I have even seen some cute announcements where everyone was holding a small chalkboard with their special number.

Family Photo Pregnancy AnnouncementsTaking a picture of the whole family or just one with the kids near your belly is two more creative ways to announce your pregnancy to friends and family. Even if this is your first pregnancy, you can still take a great family photo with just the mommy and daddy-to-be. Often times, these kind of pictures are the most precious ones to share with your loved ones.
After you have taken that perfect family photo, upload your pictures to your computer. Enhance them with a special border and sweet saying at the top of your photo. Our whole family photo pregnancy announcement included the wording “Our family of four will soon be a family of five” and an arrow towards my belly with the new baby’s due date. We also made another picture with just the boys lovingly holding my belly.

Even if this is your third, fourth, or so on child, don’t forget about the one that is getting a “promotion” in the brother/sister department on your due date. Make a special photo to share with your family and friends showing the excitement and anticipation on your child’s face.
Because my youngest son is super excited about becoming a big brother, I made a couple of example pregnancy announcements with him as the main focus. On one announcement, I added “Congrats on your promotion! Big Brother-To-Be 1-8-13”. The other one is just a cute picture of him with a big smile plastered on his face with the wording “Yay! I am going to be a Big Brother!” and the due date of the third baby.
